N.B. This copy of Helios 1.3 is made available on the basis of the following exchange of email between Olivier Aichelbaum (OA) and Perihelion (P), during the latters' last days of existence. OA: bonjour we are about 10 Atari Transputer Workstation users. some of us lost our Operating System. others use Helios 1.3 or older. As you don't sell anymore Helios for ATW, i'd like to know if installing Helios on computer that "losted" it would be piracy ?" P: No. Please feel free to copy and use Transputer Helios as you like, provided that you do not charge for it. Installation Here are some very rudimentary installation instructions off the top of my head: use the feedback form^1 or email^2 me if they don't work, or if you have corrections to offer. The .zip files in this directory contain an installation of Helios 1.3 for the ATW. They were prepared using STzip 2.6, but you should be able to unpack them with any ZIP utility. You should have a partition on your ATW hard disk which contains nothing but a single (empty) folder, called "helios". Unzip the files install1.zip, install2.zip, and install3.zip onto three 720 kB floppies, and copy their contents into this directory: except for the two files "host.con" and "server.prg" on the third disk, which should be copied to the root of the partition or to C:. Use a text editor to set the pathnames in host.con to the partition which contains the helios directory. If you now run server.prg, you should boot into Helios. Unzip cc.zip, examples.zip, gnu.zip and help.zip onto 720 kB floppies. Once you are in Helios, log in as root and run the program "loadpac" to install these.
